Lineups set for Jack Pinto Cup Duals in Greeley & Colorado Springs

The lineups have been set for The Jack Pinto Cup Dual Series, which will be held in Greeley, Colo. and Colorado Springs, Colo. this weekend. The all-star challenge dual meets will feature some of Team USA’s top Greco-Roman athletes, as well as a variety of Greco-Roman stars from around the world.
The 2015 Jack Pinto Cup – The Springs will be held at the Antlers Hilton Hotel in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Sunday, Jan. 25 at 2:00 p.m.
There will also be at least nine matches on the card for the Colorado Springs event. It will be a presented with high production values, on a raised stage with music, lighting and a professional public address announcer.
The Main Event will feature 2014 World bronze medalist Andrew Bisek (Colorado Springs, Colo./Minnesota Storm) taking on 2007 World champion and 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Yavor Yanakiev of Bulgaria at 75 kg/165 lbs.
“I am excited about it. This is going to be huge being in the Main Event. I’ll put my best out there. I am going to approach it like any other match. You can’t look at it any differently. I’ll get focused, put everything out there and let’s see what happens,”said Bisek.
The Co-Main Event will feature two-time Olympian Spenser Mango (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) battling 2013 World champion and five-time European Championships medalist Ivo Angelov of Bulgaria.
“I like the format change. The dual meet style gives it more excitement. Angelov is a great wrestler, a World champion. I am looking forward to it. It will be a great match,” said Spenser Mango.
The 71 kg/156.5 lbs weight class will feature a matchup between two-time World bronze medalist and 2012 Olympian Justin Lester (Colorado Springs, Colo./U.S. Army WCAP) facing World Military Championships bronze medalist Nurzhan Nadyrov of Kazakhstan.
2012 Olympian Ben Provisor (Colorado Springs, Colo./NYAC) squares off two-time Asian Championship gold medalist and 2009 World silver medalist Doszhan Kartikov of Kazakhstan at Competing at the 80 kg/176 lbs weight class.
At 85 kg/187 lbs., two-time U.S. World Team member Jordan Holm (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) has drawn 2010 World champion Hristo Marinov of Bulgaria.
All nine of the U.S. competitors competing in the Jack Pinto Cup – The Springs are past U.S. World Team or Olympic Team members, including seven athletes who competed at the 2014 World Championships.
There will be tabled seating available matside at the event, with a food and beverage service available for fans. Matside tables with 10 seats are still available for the event for $1,000 each table. Individual non-tabled seats for other spectators are available for $10 each.

There will be at least nine matches on the card for the Greeley event, which will be held prior to the Div. I dual meet between Northern Colorado and No. 21 Oregon State, which is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. after the Pinto Cup ends.
The Main Event in Greeley will feature NCAA All-American and 2013 World Team Trials runner-up Ryan Mango (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota) battling two-time World medalist Almat Kebispayev of Kazakhstan.
“Any time you get a chance to have top international competition it is good, especially for young guys like me who are just getting started in Greco-Roman. It’s a great opportunity to see just how far I have come and what I need to work on to get on that podium at the World Championships,” said Ryan Mango.
Competing at 71 kg/156.5 lbs is 2014 U.S. Open champion Kendrick Sanders (Homestead, Fla./New York AC) against 2011 Asian Championships bronze medalist Ashkat Zhanbirov of Kazakhstan.
Another powerful matchup will happen at 75 kg/165.35 lbs between 2010 World Team member Jake Fisher (Minneapolis, Minn./Minnesota Storm) and Darkhan Sagindykov of Kazakhstan, who placed fifth at the World University Championships.
Up next at 80 kg/176 lbs will be 2011 World Team member Cheney Haight (Orem, Utah/USOTC) who will compete against 2014 Asian Championships bronze medalist Azamat Kostubaev of Kazakhstan.
Matched up at 130 kg/286.6 lbs are 2012 Junior World medalist Toby Erickson (East Helena, Mont./New York AC) and two-time Asian Championships medalist Damir Kuzembaev of Kazakhstan.
