LUDHIANA, India – The two U.S. women who are competitors in the Indian Professional Wrestling League (PWL) were on the mats on Monday, as Adeline Gray’s Mumbai team competed against Alyssa Lampe’s Bengaluru squad in a dual meet. Gray’s Revanta Mumbai Garuda won five of seven bouts to defeat Lampe’s Bengaluru Yodhas, 41-19.

Three-time World champion Gray was dominant in her match at 69kg+, scoring a first-period 10-0 technical fall over Indian athlete Navjot Kaur. Gray is now 2-0 in her matches in the PWL. Kaur was fifth at the 2012 World Championships at 67 kg and was third at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

Lampe, a two-time World bronze medalist, had a 6-3 lead in the first period over India’s Ritu Phogot, but ended up losing the match, 9-6. Lampe is now 1-1 in her matches in the PWL. Phogat is a past Junior World silver and bronze medalist.

Gray’s Mumbai squad moves to a 2-0 record in the league, while Lampe’s Bengalaru team is now 1-1.

Next up for Lampe is a dual meet on Wednesday, as Bengaluru battles Haryana in Gurgaon. Gray returns to action Thursday, as Mumbai faces Utter Pradesh, also in Gurgaon.
