Final four U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers get draws at CISM Military Worlds in New Jersey

FORT DIX, N.J. – The final four U.S. Greco-Roman wrestlers have weighed in and received their draws for the CISM Military World Championships, which conclude on Sunday at Joint Base McGuire – Dix – Lakehurst, in New Jersey.
SSgt David Arendt, U.S. Marine Corps, a past U.S. Open champion, opens at 130 kg against Odgerel Bat-Ochir of Mongolia, who was seventh in the 2012 World University Championships.
Two U.S. Air Force wrestlers will compete Sunday, MSgt Sherwin Severin at 80 kg and A1C Nathaniel Hartley at 85 kg .
Severin opens with Abdelhak Benzanoune of Algeria. Hartley will face 2012 Olympic bronze medalist Damian Janikowski of Poland.
SPC Pete Gounaridis of the U.S. Army, who has been on the Greco-Roman National Team a number of times in the past, will face 2014 World silver medalist Oliver Hassler of Germany in his first bout at 98 kg.
“I think we will have a lot of success tomorrow,” said U.S. coach Jason Loukides. “They are excited and ready. We have a couple of Air Force guys who this will be their opportunity to shine. They will have a good effort and represent us with their fight. We have Pete Gounaridis at 98 kg, who has been a consistent performer for the USA. Arendt is just a beast. He will run those guys hot at heavyweight.”
