REMINDER: See the Freestyle World Cup on Universal Sports Network TONIGHT, March 24

A two-hour broadcast of the Freestyle Wrestling World Cup, the international World dual meet championships, will premier on Universal Sports Network on Monday, March 24, from 8 p.m. – 10 p.m. ET, followed by an encore presentation from 11 p.m. – 1 a.m. ET.
The show will feature the championship dual meet between Iran and Russia, as well as the third-place dual meet between the United States and Ukraine. The event was held at the Forum in Los Angeles, Calif., March 15-16.
Among the international stars featured on the show were Olympic champion and two-time World champion Jordan Burroughs of the United States, two-time World champion Reza Yazdani of Iran, two-time World champion Viktor Lebedev of Russia, two-time World champion Ibragim Aldatov of Ukraine and 2013 World champion Hassan Rahimi of Iran.
The broadcast team for the show will includes play-by-play announcers Shane Sparks and Joe Miller, color commentator and World silver medalist Jake Herbert and award-winning actor and wrestling leader Billy Baldwin as the sideline reporter. UFC star Chael Sonnen also made a special appearance on the show.
This is the first of a series of Olympic-style wrestling competitions which will be broadcast on Universal Sports Network, in a new partnership with USA Wrestling, the national governing body of wrestling in the United States.
Other events in the Olympic-wrestling series include the U.S. Open, the U.S. World Team Trials and additional USA Wrestling programming including an ongoing news and highlights show.
Universal Sports will also broadcast LIVE primetime coverage of the 2014 U.S. Open Championships, set for the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev., April 18 and 19.
Fans who do not normally receive Universal Sports Network as part of their television package will be able to watch the 2014 U.S. Open Championships and re-airs of the Freestyle Wrestling World Cup during upcoming free previews in April. Universal Sports’ affiliates offering free preview windows the week of April 14 include Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS, CenturyLink Prism, Google Fiber, satellite providers DIRECTV and DISH and numerous regional cable and IPTV operators in markets across the country.
Also included in the wrestling series will be the U.S. World Team Trials for men’s and women’s freestyle, which will be held in Madison, Wis. and the U.S. Greco-Roman World Team Trials, set for Daytona Beach, Fla. The U.S. World Team Trials will be broadcast on a taped-delayed basis with the freestyle competition airing on June 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. E.T. and Greco-Roman competition on June 23 from 7 to 8 p.m. E.T.
