Due to a change in the international Greco-Roman schedule, the Jacob Curby Memorial Cup in Greco Roman Wrestling will now be held in the fall, rather than this spring.
The 2014 Jacob Curby Memorial Cup will be held in Chicago, Ill. on November 1.
The Greco-Roman World Cup has been changed by FILA to Tehran, Iran on May 15-16. Originally the Curby Cup was set for May 10, but the change in the World Cup date made it necessary to adjust the schedule for Curby Cup.
Organizers for the Jacob Curby Cup are now working with the federations of Russia and Iran to confirm their attendance in this competition against the U.S. National Greco Roman team.
Last year, the Curby Cup featured dual meet competition between the United States, Lithuania, Serbia and Hungary. The USA placed second in the event last year.
The event has become one of the most respected international Greco-Roman challenge events on the annual FILA calendar.
The event is held in the loving memory of Greco-Roman Team USA member Jacob Curby, who unexpectedly passed away at the age of 25.
