Team USA's seven medalists at the 2014 Klippan

Lady Open.

KLIPPAN, Sweden – The U.S. women wrapped up a successful 2014 Klippan Lady Open earning four silver medals and three bronze medals at the tough International competition held in Klippan, Sweden.
All four women who navigated their way to the finals in Klippan came up just short of the gold.
Starting at 48 kg/105.5 lbs. 2013 World Team member for the U.S. Victoria Anthony (Huntington Beach, Calif. Sunkist Kids) dropped a tough bout to Azerbaijani 2012 Olympic silver medalist Mariya Stadnik 0-11.
Whitney Conder (Colorado Springs, Colo. U.S. Army) would be the next American to take center stage in the Klippan finals, her opponent being Maria Gurova of Russia. Conder would lose by a 0-8 decision to take home the silver medal at 53 kg/116.5 lbs.
2012 World silver medalist for the U.S. Helen Maroulis (Rockville, Md. Sunkist Kids) was slated to face Marwa Amri of Tunisia in the finals at 55 kg/121.5 lbs. but was forced to withdraw due to injury, defaulting her to the silver medal.
The final American to give it a go for gold was 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Randi Miller (Colorado Springs, Colo. U.S. Army) at 69 kg/152 lbs. Miller took on Germany’s fifth place finisher from last year’s World Championships Aline Focken in the finals, but came up just shy in the championship bout dropping the match 2-12 to the tough German.
Three Americans were able to battle back through the repechage rounds to earn a bronze medal.
Two-Time World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe (Colorado Springs, Colo. Sunkist Kids) earned an automatic berth in the bronze medal match at 48 kg/105.5 lbs. after losing in the semifinals to eventual champion Mariya Stadnik of Azerbaijan 4-9. Lampe would come back strong on her second day of competition earning a 10-0 technical fall victory over Elitza Yankova of Bulgaria for bronze.
Coming off a runner-up finish at the 2014 Dave Schultz Memorial International, American Jennifer Page (Orangevale, Calif. Titan Mercury WC) continued her hot streak of international success earning bronze at the Klippan Lady Open.
Yesterday Page dropped a 0-3 decision to eventual runner-up Michelle Fazzari of Canada, but was able to earn two victories today in the repechage to win bronze. Page defeated Yoshimi Kayama of Japan 7-4 in the 60 kg/132 lbs. bronze medal match.
Wrestling at 75 kg/165 lbs. three-time World medalist and 2012 World Champion for the U.S. Adeline Gray bounced back from a quarterfinal loss yesterday to Ekaterina Bukina of Russia to earn the U.S. its third bronze medal at the Klippan Lady Open. Gray won it 13-0 over Epp Mäe of Estonia in the bronze medal match.
Sarah Hildebrandt (Granger, Ind. King University), Kayla Miracle, (Colorado Springs, Colo. OTC), Kelsey Campbell (Colorado Springs, Colo. Sunkist Kids) and Alli Ragan (Carbondale, Ill. New York AC/King University) all came just shy of medaling, finishing the tournament in fifth place in their respective weight classes.
Team USA finished in first place in the team standings followed by Russia in second place and Canada in third.
