U.S. Olympic Team Trials brackets released for Sunday competition

IOWA CITY, Iowa – The official brackets for day two of competition at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials have been released.
Action will begin at 9:00 a.m. (CT) inside Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Sunday with the remaining nine weight classes being contested. Among the weight classes wrestling tomorrow are men’s freestyle 75 kg, 74 kg, 86 kg and 97 kg, women’s freestyle 48 kg, 53 kg and 75 kg and Greco-Roman 75 kg and 130 kg.
Two-time World Team member Tony Ramos, Olympic champion and three-time World champion Jordan Burroughs, Olympian Jake Herbert and World champion Kyle Snyder were awarded the No. 1 seeds in the four men’s freestyle weight classes wrestling tomorrow.
Top seeds in tomorrows women’s freestyle competition are two-time World bronze medalist Alyssa Lampe at 48 kg, World champion Helen Maroulis at 53 kg and three-time World champion Adeline Gray at 75 kg.
On the Greco-Roman side, two-time World bronze medalist Andy Bisek and three-time World Team member Robby Smith claim the No. 1 seeds for tomorrow’s action at 75 kg and 130 kg.
Burroughs, Snyder, Gray and Bisek have already qualified for the best-of-three finals scheduled for 6 p.m. tomorrow night and await the winner of challenge tournament brackets that will wrestle in the morning.
