Andy Bisek named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week

Andy Bisek (Colorado Springs, Colo./Minnesota Storm) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Bisek captured a bronze medal for the U.S. in Greco-Roman wrestling at the World Championships on Friday in Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
Bisek knocked off Olympic and World champion Roman Vlasov of Russia en route to earning a bronze medal at 75 kg/165 lbs.
Bisek’s medal was the first World medal for the U.S. in Greco-Roman since 2009.
Bisek rolled past Japan’s Hiroyuki Shimzu by an 8-0 technical fall in the Greco-Roman bronze bout.
