Clayton Foster (Laramie, Wyo./GRIT Athletics) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.
Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.
Foster won his freestyle bout at 86 kg/189 lbs. in the Poland vs. the World All-Star dual meet this past weekend in Raciborz, Poland.
Foster, a 2014 U.S. Open runner-up, defeated Sebastian Jezierzański 6-2 in the opening match of this special competition.
Foster was an NCAA runner-up for Oklahoma State and now trains at the University of Wyoming. Jezierzański was eighth at the 2014 European Championships and placed seventh at the 2014 University World Championships.
The competition featured matches in all three Olympic styles. There were five men’s matches and four women’s matches in the dual meet. The World All-Stars won the dual meet, 5-4
