Dustin Kilgore (Colorado Springs, Colo./Sunkist Kids) has been named TheMat.com Wrestler of the Week.

Each week, TheMat.com will select an Athlete of the Week, based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling, from youth programs through the Senior level.

Kilgore swept Chad Hanke 7-0 and 11-0 to win the University World Team Wrestle-Off in freestyle wrestling at 97 kg/213 lbs. on Monday afternoon in Tempe, Arizona.

Kilgore qualifies to compete in the University World Championships, which will be held July 8-12 in Pecs, Hungary.

Kilgore, second at last month’s U.S. Senior World Team Trials, made his second University World Team. He placed ninth at the 2012 University World Championships.

Kilgore is a resident-athlete at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Kilgore, a past NCAA champion for Kent State, is a three-time U.S. Senior National Team member. Hanke was a U.S. National Team member in 2011 after finishing second at the World Team Trials.
