With the 2023 16U National Duals switching to freestyle on Friday, USA Wrestling releases the pre-ranking seeds of the teams that are registered to compete. The same two teams who let the seeding in Greco-Roman (then met in the finals) are the same two teams with the top points in freestyle.
These reflect the combined point totals for all the individual athletes on each team roster, with points given for past achievements at the national and regional levels.
Iowa’s freestylers have the most points heading into tonight’s weigh ins with 52, followed by Illinois with 32. Pennsylvania Blue is third with 30 points, followed by Minnesota Blue with 28 points and Tennessee with 26 points.
These point totals will be used to break the tournament into the initial pools. For teams tied with the same number of points, their draw at weigh-in will be used to place them in pools.
