DES MOINES, Iowa – The first session of the Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals featured only the High School Grade 9-12 division, and the quarterfinal pairings have been set.

The top seeds advanced in all of the weight classes except two. At 138 pounds, Kade Rule of Wisconsin defeated No. 1 seed David Jewell of Georgia in the second round, then reached the quarterfinals. At 145 pounds, top seed Caleb Cady of Wisconsin lost in the second round, with Bryce Koehler of Ohio advancing to the quarterfinals in that portion of the bracket.

Among those in the quarterfinals are U15 National double champion Grey Burnett of Ohio (106), 16U Greco-Roman National champion and U15 National double champion Thomas Verrette of Colorado (126), 16U Folkstyle National champion Bradley Rodriguez-Little of Minnesota (152) and 16U National freestyle champion and U15 National double champion Dreshaun Ross of Iowa (195)

There are no 2021 Preseason High School Grade 9-10 champions who are in the quarterfinals this year. However, last year’s Middle School champions who have advanced to the Grade 9-10 quarterfinals this year are Grey Burnett of Ohio (106), Keaton Moeller of Iowa (145) and Jaxon Miller of Iowa (145).

The second session is underway, which includes the Boys National High School Recruiting Showcase, as well as the Boys High School Grade 11-12 division of the Brian Keck Preseason Nationals.

The High School Grade 9-10 divisions starts back up on Saturday morning, and will run to completion. All of the action is live on FloWrestling.
