U.S men's freestyle perfect in the morning; Familiar foes tonight For Team USA at Pan Ams

Jordan Burroughs and J’den Cox both won Gold on Saturday. The rest of Team USA went undefeated in today’s first session at the Pan Am Championships in Acapulco, Mexico. Seven individuals seek titles in tonight’s competition which will be streamed live on Flowrestling at 6PM ET.
USA’s star studded line up went a combined 14-0 to make the finals in nine of ten weights. Thirteen of the fourteen wins came via technical superiority.
The only weight in which the United States representative didn’t make the final occurred at 70kg where Zain Retherford withdrew from competition after weigh-ins due to illness.
Joey McKenna (65kg) beat Augustin Destribats (ARG) who knocked off Zain in the 2020 Olympic Qualifier. Kyle Dake, the returning World Champion at 74kg beat former World medalist Franklin Maren Castillo of Cuba.
To add intrigue to tonight’s finals, most members of Team USA will go heads up against familiar faces representing other flags. Four of the seven bouts come against former NCAA DI All Americans.
