by NWCA

MANHEIM, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced their second National Women’s Wrestler of the Month. A wrestler from top-ranked King University has been honored for the second straight month. Ana Luciano had a big month of December for the Tornado. She was recognized as the Southeast Region’s Wrestler of the Month following her second tournament title at the North Central Open.

She posted four wins at the North Central Open, including three against ranked foes. The top-ranked wrestler at 136 pounds proved that at the North Central Open, starting with a 1:21 pin over eighth-ranked Blanche Kemy Makem of Augsburg in the opening round. Following a 15-5 technical fall victory over Lindenwood University’s Athena Wilden, she defeated fifth-ranked Autumn Flanigan of Augsburg on a 14-2 technical fall to reach the final. Luciano earned an 8-5 win over fourth-ranked Sky Realin of McKendree University in the finals. Luciano is 10-0 on the season with five pins and two tournament titles.

Luciano joins teammate Sage Mortimer as the second NWCA National Wrestler of the Month this season.
