No. 2 Grand View repeats as NAIA Heart of America Conference women’s champion, led by five champions

BALDWIN CITY, Kansas – Led by five individual champions, No. 2 Grand View won its second straight NAIA Heart of America Conference women’s wrestling champion on Saturday.
Individual champions for Grand View were Emma Cochran (101), Ashley Tobe (116), Andrea Schlabach (130), Alexis Gomez (143) and Abby McIntyre (170). Cochran and Schlabach won the conference individual title for the second straight year.
Emma Cochran (101) was named Heart of America Conference Outstanding Wrestler of the Year. Abby McIntyre (170) was named Heart of America Conference Freshman of the Year. Angelo Crinzi was named Heart of America Conference Coach of the Year.
Grand View had 136.5 points, followed by runner-up Missouri Valley with 81.5 points and No. 12 Iowa Wesleyan with 63.5 points.
Other individuals repeating as conference champions were Nicole Moore of Baker (123) and Elisa Robinson of Baker (191). Last year, Baker won her conference title at 116.
Iowa Wesleyan had a pair of freshmen win individual titles: Mia Palumbo (109) and Adaugo Nwachukwu (136). The other individual champion was Salima Omari of William Penn (155).
