NWCA names Zoe Nowicki of Adrian as NCAA Women's National Wrestler of the Month for January

MANHEIM, PA – The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced their third National Women’s Wrestler of the Month on Monday. Zoe Nowicki of Adrian College earns honors for the month of January. This is the first national award for Nowicki this season.


Nowicki was the Northeast Region’s Wrestler of the Month for the second straight month and is the first two-time wrestler of the month honoree. Ranked #1 at 136 pounds, Nowicki went 5-0 in January to improve her record on the season to 19-0. Of those five wins, four came over ranked opponents with three coming at the NWCA National Duals. At the duals she earned a 17-6 technical fall win over fourth-ranked Sara Sulejmani of North Central College before back-to-back decisions over fifth-ranked Nina Makem of Augsburg and sixth-ranked Emmily Patneaud of McKendree. At the Adrian Open, Nowicki defeated seventh-ranked Athena Wilden of Lindenwood University.


The February regional wrestlers of the month are scheduled to be release prior to the regional championships that are scheduled for the weekend of February 19.
