Team USA coaches thank you for support in Final Stretch to Tokyo campaign

The Final Stretch to Tokyo campaign, a fundraising effort to support the 2020 Olympic Team, ends on June 14. As we near the end of the campaign and the start of the Tokyo Games, USA Wrestling’s National Team coaches wanted to send out a thank you for supporting our athletes as they prepare to win Olympic medals.

Women’s freestyle coach Terry Steiner:

I would like to thank all of you that have given to the women's program during the last quad leading into the Tokyo Games.  It has been an incredible journey so far, as we have continued to build upon Helen Maroulis gold medal in Rio 2016.  

We are qualified for the Tokyo Games in all weights, and in my opinion, we will go to Japan with the strongest women's freestyle team that Team USA has ever put on the Olympic mats.  We are primed for success! None of this happens without your continued support.  It takes resources to build today's superstars and tomorrow's champions! We are blessed to have you all a part of this wonderful women's wrestling family!

Men’s freestyle coach Bill Zadick:

Thank you for helping Team USA bring home multiple team trophies and individual podium finishes this quad. Due, in part, to your support, Team USA is one of the top teams in the world. We are looking forward to competing with passion, resolve, and pride for all who support Team USA at the Tokyo Olympic Games. Thanks for helping make dreams come true.

Greco-Roman coach Matt Lindland:

I want to thank our supporters. I am super excited for this team. The men on this team are leaders in our program and very high-character individuals. Each of these athletes have been in the trenches and overcame adversity and obstacles to make it this far. They all have great stories about how they got to the place where they currently are.  We have a group of athletes on our TEAM that are capable of winning medals at the Olympic Games for USA. I am proud of the athletes and super happy for each one of them, as well as honored to serve as their coach. I love these men. Thank you again. We are very blessed.
