2019 Greco-Roman Junior World bronze medalist Peyton Omania put his Greco skills on full display during his 15-8 upset of then-ranked No. 8 Kanen Storr in last Friday’s Michigan vs. Michigan State dual.
Omania, who has competed on a Cadet World Team, two Junior World Teams and a U23 World Team, executed two beautiful headlocks on Storr in the first period to rush out to a commanding, 12-1, lead.
Last week, one of Omania’s coaches Mark Halvorson, a California and USA Wrestling coaching legend, passed away. Omania’s performance was a fitting tribute to a coach who significantly impacted the lives of so many wrestlers.
