Steve Horton selected as USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week

Steve Horton (Cibolo, Texas/NB Elite) has been selected as USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week on May 25, 2021.
Horton won three national titles over the weekend, competing in the Masters division of the Southeast Regional in both Greco-Roman and freestyle as well as the USA Wrestling Beach Nationals.
In freestyle action, Horton wrestled at 70 kg, where he went 2-0 in a round robin bracket. For the Greco-Roman title, Horton collected two pins in a two-man best-of-three round robin bracket. At Beach Nationals, he recorded three wins en route to the Masters 3 division title, including a 37-second victory in the finals.
Each week USA Wrestling will select an Athlete of the Week based upon performance within wrestling for that week. The selection committee will consider any level of wrestling from youth programs through the senior level. Twitter fan votes also play a part in decision.
