Tyanna Evans has been selected as the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by Air Force Special Forces
Tyanna Evans (Vineland, N.J./The Orchard South Wrestling Club) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by Air Force Special Warfare, on January 28, 2026.
Evans won her third-straight Kids Folkstyle National Title this past weekend in Fort Wayne, Ind. She went a perfect 3-0 at 67 pounds in the 10U Girls Division. The championship puts her one step away from her first Triple Crown after winning the 63.2-69.3-pound division at the 2025 Brian Keck Memorial Preseason Nationals. Evans can capture the Triple Crown at the 2026 USA Wrestling Women’s National Championships in April.
Evans posted back-to-back pins to start the 2026 USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle Nationals. Evans’ 11-second fall in her opening round match was the eighth fastest in the entire tournament among all divisions. She then recorded a 39-second pin in the semifinals.
In the championship bout, the native of Vineland, N.J. scored a takedown late in the first period and never looked back en route to a 10-3 decision.
Last year, Evans won the 57-pound weight class in the Girls 10U division at Kids Folkstyle Nationals. In 2024, she was named Outstanding Wrestler in the Girls 8U division at the national tournament, earning two pins on her way to the championship at 50 pounds.
