Evan Wick (San Gabriel, Calif./Titan Mercury WC) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, on September 3, 2025.

Competing in RAF 01, the first-ever Real American Freestyle event, held at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland on August 30, Wick won an exciting 10-8 match at Middleweight (175 lbs.) against Jason Nolf, 10-8. He was awarded the RAF Champion Belt for his weight class after the win.

After trading takedowns in the first period, Wick surged with two takedowns and a gut wrench in the second period. Nolf responded with two takedowns of his own and and a trapped arm gut wrench for his first lead midway through the third period. Wick finished on a low single takedown to retake the lead inside the final 25 seconds. A late scramble produced no points.

Wick is currently No. 2 on the Senior Men's Freestyle National Team, after placing second in 2025 Final X at 79 kg. Wick, a 2025 U.S. Senior Open champion, was a college star at Cal Poly and Wisconsin. Nolf, a 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials runner-up at 74 kg, won three NCAA titles for Penn State.
