Cameron Guerin Named USA Wrestling Athlete Of The Week

Cameron Guerin (Yakima, Wash./McKendree University) has been named USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week.
Guerin capped off her collegiate career by winning her fifth national title at the inaugural NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championships.
In the 131-pound weight class, Guerin won a 5-5 decision on criteria in the championship match against Alexis Janiak.
Over her four matches, Guerin outscored her opponents 28-10. She finished the tournament with a pair of decision victories along with a 14-4 technical fall in the semifinals and an opening round pin just 61 seconds into the contest.
Along with her fifth career individual collegiate title, Guerin helped McKendree capture the first-ever NCAA Women’s Wrestling Championship team title after the Bearcats collected 171 total points.
On the international circuit, Guerin has competed at a pair of age-group World Championships for Team USA. She is also a two-time age-group Pan American champion and won bronze at the 2021 Senior Pan American Championships.
