Brummett (8U), Baulovic (10U) Cap USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle Nationals as Boys Outstanding Wrestlers

Cayson Brummett (8U) and Ivan Baulovic (10U) were named Boys Outstanding Wrestlers in their respective divisions to conclude the 2026 USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle Nationals
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – On the final day of the 2026 USA Wrestling Kids Folkstyle Nationals, Cayson Brummett (8U) and Ivan Baulovic (10U) collected Outstanding Wrestler accolades.
Each winner from the boys division is one third of the way to the Boys Triple Crown. The winners from this weekend will now need to win both the freestyle and Greco-Roman disciplines at the 2026 USA Wrestling Kids Freestyle & Greco-Roman Nationals in June.
Brummett collected three pins to with the 8U 62-pound weight class. After a 12-6 decision to start the tournament, Brummett rattled off three-straight pins, highlighted by 44 second fall in the championship match against Jacob Tonitis.
Baulovic shut out the competition in his five victories in the 59-pound division. He collected pair of technical falls and two major decisions. Holding a 9-0 lead in the semifinals, Baulovic pinned Connor Cihlar to move into the finals. For the tournament, Baulovic outscore his opponents, 67-0.
8U Boys Notes
Along with Brummett, Bryken Dougan (40 pounds) and Everett Brown (70 pounds) pinned their way to national titles in the finals. In the 85-pound weight class, Fynn Word pinned Damacio Baysinger 1:50 into the final round robin match to clinch the title.
The 8U finals featured a trio of major decisions from Issac Wicks, Nicholas Steiner and Kashton Taylor. The final pair of matches featured Demid Cheltsov and Joey Garcia winning by decision to grab championship belts.
10U Boys Notes
The final bouts in the 10U division featured four championship clinching pins. At 77 pounds, Kal Thompson pinned Brooks Bialo and the following match featured Jayce Walker pinning Jaxon Huffman 28 second into the contest.
At 105 pounds William Hesz capped off his run to the national with a second period pin. In the 120-pound round robin tournament, Jackson Schwartz pinned all three of his opponents and logged just 3:06 of mat time.
Baulovic was joined by Joshua Brockway with shutout major decision victories in the finals following Brockway’s 12-0 win over Broderick Tittle.
