Tommy Rowlands (Dublin Ohio, Ohio Crazy Goats Wrestling) has been named the USA Wrestling Athlete of the Week, presented by U.S. Air Force Special Warfare, on May 28, 2025.

Rowlands won a double title at 68 kg for the United States at the 2025 U15 Pan American Championships in Guatemala City, Guatemala, claiming the Greco-Roman gold medal on May 22 and the men’s freestyle gold medal on May 24. He helped lead the United States to the team title in both styles.

In Greco-Roman, Rowlands controlled his three opponents, scoring a pair of 8-0 technical falls against opponents from Brazil and Mexico, and finishing up with a 4-1 decision over Adrian Barbosa of Mexico in the finals.

In men’s freestyle, Rowlands opened with a 25-second pin over Valentino Godoy Corvalan of Chile, then closed out his victory with a pair of technical falls. In the finals, he scored an 11-0 over David Maldonado of Puerto Rico.

Rowlands was one of five U.S. wrestlers to win double titles at the U15 Pan American Championships, along with Jonathan Thompson (38 kg), Brody Compau (44 kg), Spenser McCammon (48 kg) and Daniel Jackson (85 kg).

Rowlands qualified for the U.S. U15 Pan American team based upon his performance at the 2025 U15 Nationals, which was part of the CLAW U.S. Open in Las Vegas in April. Rowlands won the 68 kg gold medal in Greco-Roman and a silver medal in men’s freestyle. He recently won a double title at the 16U division at the Central Regionals in Louisville, Ky.
