Emilio Albanese of Pennsylvania Red celebrate a last-second win in the championship match at the 2025 Air Force Special Warfare Junior National Duals.

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin – Pennsylvania Red brought home the state’s first freestyle national title at the 2025 Air Force Special Warfare Junior National Duals with a tremendous effort on Saturday at Baird Center North.

After finishing the Gold/Silver Bracket pool rounds unscathed, The Keystone State squad found itself in a rematch against a talented Ohio Scarlet unit. Pennsylvania Red took out Ohio Scarlet in the Pool C finals yesterday by six points, in a dual that came down to the final match. Pennsylvania Red backed it up with a 37-28 win in the national finals.

Three athletes picked up bonus point wins for Pennsylvania Red in the championship dual—Nathan Schuman at 100 pounds, Michael Turi at 150 pounds and Adam Waters at 190 pounds—all three earning impressive, first period technical falls. Pennsylvania Red also received forfeits at 157 pounds and 285 pounds.

Emilio Albanese halted any chance Ohio Scarlet had at a comeback with a stunning four-pointer at the buzzer to upend Ayden Dodd, 8-7, in the penultimate match.

Schuman and Waters both posted 7-0 records for Pennsylvania Red to make the All-Tournament Team in men’s freestyle. On the Ohio Scarlet side, Loc Webber, Rylan Seacrist, Grey Burnett and Ryan Kennedy went undefeated with 7-0 records.

Finishing in third place was Illinois, who took out home-state Wisconsin Red, 37-27. Indiana Gold won it, 33-31, over Minnesota Blue in an exciting fifth place dual. Utah brought home a 39-27 win against Ohio Gray for seventh place.

35 more teams battled it out for bragging rights in the Bronze/Copper, Blue/Red, Yellow/Grean, Purple and Teal brackets. Final placements for every color pool are listed below.
