The Palestra in North Liberty, Iowa, is set to host the 2026 U17 Pan American Team Trials on March 6-7. This event serves as the qualifying event to determine who will represent Team USA in Panama City, Panama.

This year’s U17 Pan American Championships has been moved up to early April on the international events calendar, spurring the need for an earlier team selection process.

Athletes eligible to compete at this event must be born from 2009 to 2011 and be U.S. citizens. All interested participants are encouraged to register now to secure a spot.

The tournament is scheduled for two days of wrestling. Women’s freestyle and Greco-Roman competition lead things off on March 6, with men’s freestyle following the next day. Action starts at 10 a.m. (CT) on both days, with the repechage and medal rounds scheduled for 6 p.m. (CT).

On the men’s side, athletes will compete in both Greco-Roman and freestyle disciplines at the U17 Pan American Championships. As a result, athletes must compete in both styles in Iowa. The U.S. representative will be selected based on the aggregate finish in both styles.
