Pennsylvania Blue downs Wisconsin to win 16U Women’s National Duals freestyle title, 40-24

WESTFIELD, Ind.—Top seed Pennsylvania Blue defeated fifth seeded Wisconsin in the championship dual of the 2025 16U Women’s National Duals in freestyle at Grand Park Events Center in Westfield, Indiana, on Friday.

Pennsylvania Blue took an early lead with victories from Brooklyn Henry (95), Makayla Smith (100) and Morgan Hyland (105). Cora Stewart (110) put Wisconsin on the board with an 8-1 decision over Riley Karwowski, but Pennsylvania Blue fired back with an 8-1 decision from Marlee Solomon (115).

Dailin Cody (120) put Wisconsin back in solid contention with a pin at 1:24, but Pennsylvania Blue would go on to win the next two bouts. Starting at 135, Wisconsin strung together a trio of solid victories by Erika Sleznikow (135), Stella Pettitt (140) and Layla Risler (145).

At 190 pounds, Ashley Hoffman clinched the dual for Pennsylvania Blue with a crucial pin at 2:24. The final two bouts of the dual went to Pennsylvania Blue, a 5-2 decision from Noelani Knott (207) and a 3-0 decision from Jenna Chapman (235).

Five athletes from Pennsylvania Blue also earned All-Tournament honors, going undefeated with at least five wins. The athletes are Brooklyn Henry (95), Makayla Smith (100), Marlee Solomon (115), Neve O’Bryne (130), and Juliet Alt (155).

Twenty one teams battled it out in the Bronze/Copper, Blue/Red, and Green/Yellow pools. Final placements for every color pool are listed below.
