The "Send-off Celebration" open house for National Wrestling Hall of Fame Distinguished Member Bucky Maughan has been set for this coming Saturday.

Maughan, 83, passed away on October 24, 2024 in West Fargo, N.D.

A “Send-Off Celebration” open house will be held at The Four & Four Downtown Venue in Fargo (located above Sidestreet Grille and Pub) on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 3 pm-7 pm.

Memorials may be directed to the NDSU Foundation - Bucky Maughan Wrestling Endowment - 1241 North University Drive, Fargo, ND 58102, or the charity of your choice.

Bucky Maughan obituary in Fargo Forum

Maughan led the North Dakota State University wrestling program for 47 seasons. His Bison teams won four NCAA Division II national championships in 1988, 1998, 2000 and 2001. He was a two-time NAIA national champion at MSU Moorhead in 1962 and 1963, and also claimed the 1963 NCAA Division I championship at 115 pounds.

Maughan was actively involved in USA Wrestling, especially during the years in which USA Wrestling hosted its largest competition, the combined Junior/16U Nationals in the FargoDome on the North Dakota State campus. Many of those within USA Wrestling at all levels were impacted by Bucky's life.
