One of USA Wrestling’s most popular Folkstyle Tour of America events, the Northwest Bigfoot Battle, will be held this year in Farmington, Utah, November 5-7.
Traditionally, this competition has been hosted in Spokane, Wash., but with challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, organizers have moved the event for one year only to a new location. USA Wrestling is pleased to be able to continue this opportunity for wrestlers in the West to attend a high-level competition this fall.
The event will be conducted following the requirements of the state and local health authorities, as well as using the safety provisions of the USA Wrestling Return to Events Guidelines. USA Wrestling and the local organizers will monitor data and local trends closely leading up to the event.
The competition will be held at the Legacy Events Center in Farmington, which most recently hosted the Western State Championships this summer. This venue will also host another successful Tour of America competition, the Salt Lake Slam, later in the season.
The official website and online registration system is currently being finalized, and will be opened shortly. Please save this date and location, and look for additional details which will be provided as soon as possible.
The competition will feature divisions for boys and girls at the high school, middle school and grade school levels. The high school division is new for the Northwest Bigfoot Battle, and is expected to be very competitive. For this year, there will not be true beginners divisions at the Bigfoot Battle.
The USA Wrestling Folkstyle Tour of America is a popular and growing series of major youth folkstyle wrestling competitions held in strategic locations across the nation.
The first Folkstyle Tour of America event of the 2020-21 season is a new competition, the Folkstyle Tour of America National Club Duals, presented by Trackwrestling, in Wisconsin Dells, Wis., October 16-18. This event will be a dual meet format, featuring club teams of boys and girls at the high school and middle school levels.
