Match of the Day: Mota-Pettis takes out Nette in the U23 Nationals finals

Two-time Junior Fargo champion Xochitl Mota-Pettis announced herself on the Senior level in a big way this October, finishing runner-up at the 2020 Senior Nationals. Along the way, Mota-Pettis pinned two-time World silver medalist Alli Ragan, earning an eye-opening win.
The bar for Mota-Pettis was set high going into the UWW Junior and U23 Nationals in Omaha, Nebraska. However, she delivered, making the finals in both age groups.
In the U23 finals, Mota-Pettis bested National Team member Abby Nette, who won the tournament in 2018 and 2019 and represented the U.S. at the U23 World Championships.
Mota-Pettis finished runner-up in the Junior division, only losing to two-time Junior World Team Cameron Guerin.
