South Dakota State’s Spencer Trenary dominated the 130 kg Junior Greco-Roman division at the UWW Junior Nationals last weekend in Omaha, Nebraska. En route to his title, Trenary recorded a technical fall and two first-period pins. He also placed third in the Junior freestyle tournament, only dropping a match to the eventual champion Josh Heindselman.
Trenary, a 2019 Fargo Greco-Roman Junior runner-up, will be a redshirt freshman this season. Wrestling unattached last year, he put together an 18-9 record.
Below, watch Trenary’s pin over Josiah Hill, an incoming freshman at Little Rock who also finished sixth in the Junior freestyle tournament.
