Girls’ action wraps up at Bigfoot Battle in Utah, Takedown Express wins team title

FARMINGTON, Utah – 35 girls claimed titles on Friday night at USA Wrestling’s Tour of America – Bigfoot Battle in Farmington, Utah.

Four girls divisions were contested today, including 10U, 12U, middle school and high school. Among those divisions, three athletes were named Outstanding Wrestlers:

• 10U/12U – Daphney Gomez, 60 pounds
• Middle school - Bailey Cathey, 127 pounds
• High school - Shelby Moore, 127 pounds

Additionally, Takedown Express Wrestling Club won the girls team title with three champions and three other finalists. Takedown Express WC’s champs were Anna DiCugno (HS 122), Shelby Moore (HS 127) and Claire DiCugno (HS 132). Finishing second for TEWC was Maria Hawthorne (HS 152), Azalea Fetters (MS 97) and Sophia Torrez (MS 101).

Action continues tomorrow on Trackwrestling with youth boys and middle school boys wrestling.
