Match of the Day: Emily Shilson claims her sixth Fargo title

At the 2019 U.S. Marine Corps Junior Nationals in Fargo, N.D., Minnesota’s Emily Shilson dominated the field to claim her sixth Fargo title. In six matches, Shilson earned six technical falls, outscoring her opponents, 60-0. This was Shilson’s fourth Junior title. She also won two 16U titles.
As a college freshman this year, Shilson went undefeated and won a WCWA title competing for Augsburg University in their inaugural season. Additionally, she is a 2018 Youth Olympic Games gold medalist, a 2018 Cadet World Champion and a 2017 Cadet World silver medalist. She also competed on the 2019 U23 World Team.
In the finals, Shilson faced Missouri’s Faith Cole, the 2019 16U champion at 106 pounds. Cole opted to double-up and compete in both age groups.
