Northern Michigan University has announced its annual awards for the Greco-Roman wrestling team at its National Training Site for this past academic year.
This year’s award winners are:
Athlete of the Year: Alston Nutter, freshman, Fenimore, Wis.
Scholar-Athlete: George Hooker, junior, Nashville, Tenn.
Breakthrough Athlete: Spencer Woods, freshman, Kotzebue, Alaska
Newcomer: David Stepanian, freshman, Macomb, Mich.
Nutter is studying Business/Marketing. Hooker is studying Economics. Woods is studying Biology/Predental. Stepanian is studying Pre-Physical Therapy.
Congratulations to these superb student-athletes.
The head coach of the NMU National Training Site Greco-Roman team is two-time World bronze medalist Andy Bisek, who is the fifth head coach in the history of the program.
