EIWA Awards: Glory named Wrestler of the Year; Slavikouski named Freshman of the Year

The Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association named its major athlete award winners for the year over the weekend.
Patrick Glory Named the EIWA Wrestler of the Year
Patrick Glory of Princeton University has been named the 2019-20 EIWA Wrestler of the Year by the head wrestling coaches of the member institutions. Glory capped an undefeated season by winning the 125-pound weight class at the recent EIWA wrestling championships held at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. It was the second straight title for the 2019 All-American. He is the first Princeton wrestler to receive this award, first presented in 1998. Glory won his first three bouts at EIWAs with bonus points before securing the title with a 3-0 shutout decision. He received the second seed in the 125-pound bracket for the canceled 2020 NCAA tournament. Patrick is from Randolph, New Jersey and graduated from Delbarton High School, where he won two state titles and compiled 157 career wins.
Yaraslau Slavikouski Named the EIWA Freshman of the Year
Yaraslau Slavikouski of Harvard University has been named the 2019-20 EIWA Freshman of the Year by the head wrestling coaches of the member institutions. Slavikouski was runner-up in the 285-pound weight class at the recent EIWA wrestling championships held at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He began the season unheralded but after placing at the Binghamton Open, Keystone Classic, and Midlands he rose as high at the top ten in national rankings. Slavikouski won his first three bouts at EIWAs convincingly before falling to three-time champion Jordan Wood in the finals. He was the highest-placing freshman at the tournament. He received the tenth seed in the 285-pound bracket for the canceled 2020 NCAA tournament. Yaraslau is from Rechitsa, Belarus where he attended Republic State College of Olympic Reserve. He attended Northfield Mount Hermon for his last three prep seasons, winning three Prep New England championships and two Prep National runner-up awards. He is a two-time NHSCA champion and a European championship 3rd-placer.
