Pin of the Week: Victoria Anthony nails a pancake in the 2017 World Team Trials finals
by USA Wrestling
Victoria Anthony dominated her way through the bracket at the 2017 World Team Trials to claim a spot on the Senior World Team for the second time in her career. The two-time Junior World champion made the 2013 Senior World Team at 51 kg and placed fifth at the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
In 2017, Anthony was competing for a spot at 48 kg. On her way to the finals, she picked up two, 10-0, technical falls. That set her up to wrestle Cody Pfau for the World Team spot. Pfau is a three-time WCWA champion, a three-time Junior World Team member and a two-time U23 World Team member.
In the best-of-three series, Anthony would earn a fall in match one (featured below) and a, 10-0, first period technical fall in match two. She would go on to finish fifth at the World Championships in Paris, France.
