Seven Americans set to compete in Greco-Roman at 2020 Austrian Open

There will be seven American wrestlers competing at the Austrian Open in Götzis, Austria tomorrow. The Junior Greco-Roman contingent contains five wrestlers from Northern Michigan University. Headlining the group is 2019 Junior Pan Am bronze medalist Benji Peak who took gold at this tournament in 2018. Other Northern Michigan wrestlers include, Jakob Murillo, Brody Olson, Alec McDoulett and David Hallet.

The two other wrestlers competing are Logan Hatch and Payton Jacobson. Hatch currently trains at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center, while Jacobson, who is still in high school, trains with Topper Wrestling Club, a club specifically focused on Greco-Roman and women’s freestyle.

The U.S. has found success in the past at this tournament, finishing with the team title in 2017 and 2018 and logging a runner-up finish last year.
