Match of the Day: Tom Brands wins gold at the 1996 Olympic Games

At the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, Tom Brands won a gold medal by defeating South Korea’s Jang Jae-Sung. Brands, who is currently Iowa’s head coach, was a 1993 World champion and a 1995 Pan Am Games champion. He also competed on the 1994 and 1995 World Teams. In addition to his Olympic silver medal, Jae-Sung would go on to earn a bronze medal in the 2000 Olympic Games. Jae-Sung ended his career as a two-time World medalist, taking silver in 1999 and bronze in 2001.
