Match of the Day: Rulon Gardner and Dremiel Byers clash in the 2004 Olympic Team Trials finals

Going into the 2004 Olympic Team Trials, returning Olympic champion Rulon Gardner was the No. 2 seed in the bracket. The No. 1 seed was earned by Dremiel Byers, who defeated Gardner earlier in the year at Senior Nationals.
Gardner and Byers are two of the most successful Greco-Roman wrestlers in U.S. History. Gardner is a 2000 Olympic gold medalist, a 2001 World champion and would go on to take bronze in the 2004 Olympic Games.
Over the course of his career, Byers competed at eight World Championships and two Olympic Games. A 2002 World champion, Byers also took silver at the 2009 World Championships and bronze at the 2007 World Championships.
