Townsell, Eierman, Pantaleo, McBryde and Singletary receive draws for U23 World Championships

BUDAPEST, Hungary – The first five American men’s freestyle athletes received their draws for the first day of action at the U23 World Championships in Budapest, Hungary.
2019 Pan American Games bronze medalist and 2018 Senior National Team member Jaydin Eierman will open his tournament at 65 kg against Abolfazl Hajipouramiji of Iran, who was second at the 2016 Dan Kolov International.
Tomorrow will mark Eierman’s first World Championships.
Making his second World debut is Alec Pantaleo, who will compete at 70 kg. Pantaleo, a 2016 Junior World Team member, will take on 2016 Cadet World silver medalist Stefan Tonu of Moldova in his first match.
Representing at 57 kg is Gabriel Townsell, 2017 Junior Pan American silver medalist in freestyle. He also placed fifth in that same tournament in Greco-Roman. Townsell will face Robert Dingashvili of Georgia, who won bronze at 2019 U23 European Championships and silver at 2016 Junior European Championships.
Muhamed McBryde, the 79 kg rep for the USA, will open his tournament against Estonia’s Erik Reinbok, who picked up a bronze medal at the 2019 Junior European Championships and took fifth at the 2018 Junior Worlds.
Wrestling at 97 kg this week is Chase Singletary, who drew three-time World medalist Dzianis Khramiankou from Belarus. Khramiankou’s most recent World medal was a silver at the 2017 U23 World Championships. He also recorded a silver at 2015 Junior Worlds and bronze at 2016 Junior Worlds.
