#ThrowbackThursday: See Jordan Burroughs’ first U.S. Open title match in 2011, and the post-victory interview

 In 2020, Jordan Burroughs will be trying out for his third U.S. Olympic Team. A 2012 Olympic champion and four-time World champion, Burroughs boasts eight World or Olympic medals in his historic career. Going into the 2020 Olympic quest, Burroughs is the most accomplished American on the men’s freestyle scene, and clearly one of the most experienced leaders in the sport.

There was a time when Burroughs was the young buck coming out of the college ranks, looking to make his mark on freestyle wrestling. We visit that time, back in 2011, when Burroughs came off his Hodge Trophy senior year at Nebraska and entered his first U.S. Senior Open, which was held in Cleveland, Ohio. We share video of his gold-medal finals victory over Nick Marable, and his post-event interview after his first U.S. Open title.
