Pennsylvania Blue doubles up and wins 14U National Duals title in freestyle after already claiming Greco-Roman title

Two days after claiming a title in Greco-Roman, Pennsylvania Blue took home the freestyle team title by defeating Oklahoma Blue in a tightly contested, 42-39 dual.
The opening bout did not go Pennsylvania’s way, with Oklahoma’s Stockton Allen winning by fall off a cow catcher at 71 pounds. Jason Desmond responded for Team Pennsylvania at 77 pounds, with a 10-0 technical fall. Desmond utilized his neutral abilities, picking up four takedowns, including a four-point foot sweep. Next up for Team Pennsylvania was Bo Basset at 83 pounds, who earned a 10-0 first period technical fall. Basset scored two takedowns and racked up six points off a gut wrench. At 87 pounds, Dalton Perry picked up one of the key victories of the afternoon for Pennsylvania, grinding out a 4-4 win on criteria.
Ishmael Guerrero earned a fall for Team Oklahoma at 90 pounds, and shifted the momentum in their favor. Guerrero was trailing, 6-2, in the second period at the time of the fall. In a thrilling 9-8, bout, Oklahoma’s LaDarion Lockett picked up the win at 97 pounds on a last second reversal. JJ McComas kept Oklahoma’s winning streak going, earning a 10-0 technical fall in just under 30 seconds at 102 pounds.
Kamdyn Williams got Pennsylvania back on track at 106 pounds with a 14-4 technical fall. Mason Gibson followed suit for Team Pennsylvania with his own technical fall at 110 pounds, 13-2.
Oklahoma earned the next two victories, both by technical fall, with Jace Roller winning, 14-3, at 114 pounds, and Layton Schneider winning 14-4 at 119 pounds.
Dylan Evans would pick a fall off of a dump at 125 pounds for Team Pennsylvania. Liam Scrivanich would then earn a 13-3 technical fall 130 pounds for Team Pennsylvania. In another important victory for the Pennsylvania squad, Bekhruz Sadriddinov Navruzov battled back from an 8-0 deficit to win, 14-10, at 136 pounds.
KJ Evans earned a fall for Team Oklahoma at 149 pounds. Tucker Hogan responded for Pennsylvania with a fall of his own at 165 pounds. The teams split the last two matches, with Sonny Sasso earning a 12-2 technical fall at 187 pounds for Pennsylvania, and Mason Harris winning, 5-0, at 250 pounds for Oklahoma.
