Ulrey falls in repechage to end his 2019 Cadet World tournament

SOFIA, Bulgaria – USA men’s freestyle representative at 80 kg, Clayton Ulrey, was eliminated from the 2019 Cadet World Championships after losing in repechage on Tuesday afternoon in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Ulrey faced 2019 Cadet European bronze medalist Rakhim Magomadov from France in his only match of the day. Magamodov used a series of four-point moves to defeat Ulrey with a 13-0 tech fall.
Yesterday, the American went 2-1 on the day, defeating 2017 U15 European bronze medalist Farid Jabbarov of Azerbaijan, 4-4, before taking out 2019 Cadet Asian bronze medalist Bekzat Amangali of Kazakhstan, 12-0.
In the quarterfinals, Ulrey dropped a 10-0 match to 2018 U15 European champion Arslan Bagaev from Russia.
Overall, Ulrey went 2-2 in his first international tournament.
