Molinari lands spot in Yasar Dogu finals, Green eliminated from tournament

ISTANBUL, Turkey – Two-time Senior World Team member Forrest Molinari will wrestle for gold tomorrow at the Yasar Dogu International in Istanbul, Turkey, after going 2-0 on the day.

In her semifinal at 65 kg, Molinari, the only U.S. women’s freestyle representative, defeated 2019 Senior Asian Championships bronze medalist Alina Termirtassova of Kazakhstan, using multiple takedowns en route to a 7-3 decision.

Earlier in the day, she picked up a 45-second fall over Rimma Ryssaeva of Kazakhstan.

In tomorrow’s finals, Molinari will face two-time Ivan Yarygin bronze medalist Natalya Fedoseeva of Russia for gold.

In men’s freestyle, James Green was eliminated from the tournament when his first-round opponent Haydar Yavuz of Turkey lost in the semifinals at 70 kg, 2-2, getting hit with a penalty with less than two seconds left.

The finals will take place Friday at 5:30 p.m. local time (10:30 a.m. ET) live on Flowrestling.org.
