COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The final two women’s freestyle weight classes at the 21st Dave Schultz Memorial International were determined on Friday.

The U.S. crowned a champion, as 2018 Junior World Team member Alyvia Fiske of the Titan Mercury WC went 2-0 at 76 kg in a three-athlete weight class.

Fiske opened up with a 43 second pin over Anna Naylor of the University of the Cumberlands, and closed out the title with an 8-2 victory over Payton Rigert of the University of the Cumberlands. Fiske was finished in the first session of the day, not having to compete on Friday night.

Naylor defeated her teammate Rigert, 13-2, to claim the silver medal, with Rigert getting bronze.

Fiske became the fifth U.S. champion at this year’s Schultz Memorial in women’s freestyle, with the other four gold medals going to Canada.

A Californian, Fiske attends Simon Fraser University in Canada, and will compete in the WCWA college nationals in Georgia in a few weeks. Fiske was fourth in the 2018 U.S. Senior Nationals at this weight class.

The other individual champion was Olivia Dibacco of Canada, who was fifth in the 2018 Senior Worlds, and won the 68 kg weight class at the Dave Schultz Memorial with a 2-0 record. It was her second Dave Schultz Memorial title, to go with a 2017 gold medal.

In her opening match, Dibacco edged 2018 Cadet World champion Macey Kilty of the Sunkist Kids, 2-1. It was Kilty’s Senior-level international debut.

Kilty rebounded in her second match with an impressive 14-4 technical fall win over Final X runner-up Randyll Beltz of WCAP, a veteran Senior-level athlete who has made multiple Women’s National Teams. Although the match was close early on, Kilty opened up her offense.

The Outstanding Wrestler in the women’s division was Jacarra Winchester of the Titan Mercury WC, who won the 59 kg weight class on Thursday night. Winchester, who was fifth at the 2017 Worlds at 55 kg, dominated her three bouts, scoring two technical falls and a pin.

Canada, which brought a large and talented delegation, won the team title with 44 points, followed by the Sunkist Kids with 34 points.
