Tickets became available today for the completion of the Final X 65 kg competition in men’s freestyle between Yianni Diakomihalis and Zain Retherford, which will be held on Monday, Sept. 2 at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., to determine the 2019 World Team spot.
By approximately 6:00 p.m. Eastern time today, the event was SOLD OUT. The Marts Center, which holds 2,000 fans, will be filled with wrestling fans who will attend this Labor Day event.
Last week, an arbitrator, Professor Matthew Mitten, ruled that the second match between Diakomihalis and Retherford was nullified, due to officials improperly allowing a challenge at the conclusion of the second bout at Final X: Rutgers on June 8, 2019.
As a result, match two will be re-wrestled, and if necessary, a third match will be contested.
Bout 2 will begin at 3 p.m. ET on Sept. 2.
With the event sold out, fans can still watch the action live on FloWrestling.org.
Retherford enters the best-of-three series with a 1-0 lead after winning the first Final X bout against Diakomihalis, 10-4. Retherford needs to win only one more match to make the World Team, while Diakomihalis will need to win two matches.
