He will face Aliakbar Hossein Yousofiahmadchali of Iran in the gold-medal finals. Yousofiahmadchali was a 2018 U23 World bronze medalist, and won the 2019 Asian Junior Championships.

Schultz won three matches in Friday’s morning session. He started with a pair of technical falls, beating Dariusz Vitek of Hungary, 10-2 and Aawesh Aawesh of India, 9-0. His quarterfinal win was over Hamdy Aly Issa of Egypt., 5-0.

The USA challenged the final call, which was denied, giving Amaev his final point.

Nutter scored a pin of Zaur Nuriyev of Azerbaijan in his first bout, then defeated Assaukhat Mukhamadiyev of Kazakhstan, 5-2 in quarterfinals during the morning session.
