Perez falls in repechage, wraps up his 2019 Cadet World tournament

SOFIA, Bulgaria – USA Cadet Greco-Roman representative at 65 kg, Robert Perez III lost his repechage match on Saturday morning, eliminating him from the 2019 Cadet World Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Perez, a 2019 Cadet Pan American champion in Greco-Roman and freestyle, faced Arman Khacikyan of Armenia, who was fifth at the 2019 Cadet European Championships.
The Armenian scored early on a four-point throw, putting Perez to his back. Perez fought hard for quite some time but was eventually overpowered by Khachikyan, who got the fall in 1:50.
Perez wraps up his first World Championships with a 1-2 record, picking up a first-round win over Kristjian Bosnjak of Croatia, 8-0.
