USA Wrestling is happy to announce that the 2019 Big Brother/Future Freestyle Developmental Camp has been finalized and is accepting applications.
Every year this camp hosts nearly 100 athletes from around the nation. It gives athletes the opportunity to improve existing and learn new wrestling technique from an elite level coaching staff. Not only will athletes be receiving instruction from the USA Wrestling National Team Staff, various guest coaches and clinicians from around the country will be in attendance. Guided by the USA Wrestling Athlete Development Model, this camp focuses on developing skills across all three styles of wrestling, Folkstyle, Freestyle and Greco-Roman.
This year’s camp will be held from March 24-29 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The camp schedule includes two on mat sessions each day with classroom sessions on nutrition, sports psychology, strength training and more in between training sessions. USA Juniors and 16U are eligible to apply. Note: 14U athletes may apply but priority placement will be given to the older age groups.
Camp selection is based on the following criteria:
• Athlete ages – to ensure proper age appropriate training
• Athlete weight – to ensure safety and adequate partners for all
• Athlete qualifying credentials (qualifying tournaments of 2018)
1. Jr. Nationals
2. Cadet Nationals
3. Folkstyle Nationals (not pre-season nationals)
Camp costs are based on an athlete’s placement at any of the three, listed qualifying tournaments and range from $250 to $650. Application will be accepted until the camp is full. Rolling acceptance will continue until February 8, 2019.
If accepted into the camp, you will receive an acceptance email with registration information; do not book travel until you receive this email.
