One World champ, seven World Teamers and 20 Fargo champs make up field for Cadet World Team Trials in Akron

The fields for this weekend’s men’s freestyle and Greco-Roman Cadet World Team Trials in Akron, Ohio, feature seven past Cadet World Team members and one World champion. The tournament is scheduled for June 1-3 and will be live on Flowrestling.
Athletes who win this weekend’s tournaments via a best-of-three finals series, punch their tickets to the 2018 Cadet World Championships, set for July 2-8 in Zagreb, Croatia. Additionally, the top-eight wrestlers in each weight class qualify for the USMC Cadet and Junior National Championships in Fargo, N.D., July 14-20.
Athletes eligible to compete as a Cadet are those born between 2001 and 2003 to make this a 15-17-year-old age group.
The event begins with Cadet Greco competition on Friday and will wrap up with Cadet freestyle on Saturday and Sunday. It will be held alongside the U23 World Team Trials in men’s freestyle and Greco, which will also be streamed live on Flowrestling.org.
Although online registration has closed, athletes who wish to participate can do so on-site. There is no prequalification required.
